My husband and I have found our newest past time. It's driving down Boyd Avenue to see what the mannequin is wearing. It's always fun because you never know what persona she will have taken on from the previous day or week.
Here's the scoop:
There is a mannequin on Boyd Avenue in our town. Her owners move her around the yard, which they keep up with very well might I add, and change her clothes on a regular basis. I don't know how many other citizens know about her wardrobe and movements, but it is always the highlight of our day! We purposely go the long way just to see what she's wearing. She can be anything from a Red Hat Club member to a biker decked out in black leather complete with a dew rag.
It's like she's a life size Barbie who takes on different roles in the world. She's worn a red ball gown with a long blond wig, a red coat that resembles closely to the British Army, camo, 80s wear and what ever else you can imagine.
Sometimes she's by the tree or out enjoying the sunshine on the other side of the driveway. She is also accompanied by a tiny stuffed bear, whom I like to call Boyd. He usually wears a red plaid shirt and overalls, but nevertheless, Boyd is making his debut as well.
I've decided to start this blog because I find such enjoyment in the act. It's rather clever of the owners, which I have not met but would love to, and I feel like I know her. Yet I'm always surprised at what character she has become.
I will update this blog with pictures every time I see that she has made a wardrobe change. Please enjoy and help me come up with a name for our new friend!
